Established by Board of Supervisors Ordinance No. G-433 of March 29, 1960
and revised by Ordinance G-945 of April 11, 1967, and Ordinance G-4009 of
April 2,1985, pursuant to Section 25699 of the Government Code. Minute
Order of 1/5/1993 enacted Ordinance G-5885 amending Chapter 2.56.030 (Membership)
and 2.56.040 (terms of members); February 20, 2000, Board dissolved the
Groundwater Quality Committee and delegated authority to consider groundwater
quality issues to the Water Resources Committee; Ordinance G-6986 enacted
April 1, 2003, amending terms of members. |
| Membership Qualifications: |
Twenty-three (23) members: consisting of two members of the Board of
Supervisors, the Development Services Agency Director, and the balance shall
be appointed by the Board of Supervisors (each Supervisor to nominate 4
persons to membership).

| Term: |
Four-year term. Board of Supervisors' members shall serve at the pleasure
of the majority of said Board. |
| Duties: |
Pursuant to Section 25699 of the Government Code the function of the Committee
shall be to advise and make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors with
respect to the water resources and groundwater quality issues of Kern County. |
| Meeting Place and Time: |
Meeting once a year, scheduled by Director of Development Services Agency, and
on an as-needed basis. Meeting place and time to be determined by Director
of Development Services Agency. |
