Jobs First Center

Have you found yourself in need of a place to look for work, update your resume, or practice your interviewing skills? We have the place for you!! It's the Jobs First Center at the Kern County Department of Human Services, 100 E. California Avenue, Bakersfield, CA. We have been helping people in your similar circumstances for over 10 years and offer the following services:

  • Access to CalJOBS where you can search locally or statewide for any type of job that interests you.
  • Resume' preparation by qualified staff who can help you if you are struggling with the right wording and can continually update it once you have an original in our center.
  • Access to a telephone bank where you can call employers to set up your interviews or check on the results of applications/interviews you've already put in.
  • Resources for other services like childcare, temporary hiring agencies, and legal assistance for clearing up criminal records.
  • Referrals to other agencies that can assist in your path to self-sufficiency.
