CalWORKs Welfare-to-Work Services
Welfare to Work services are provided to eligible CalWORKs adults to assist them in becoming self-sufficient. Services include:
- Supportive services to assist individuals that are working or participating in an approved Welfare-to-Work activity and include:
- Child Care
- Bus passes or gas money
- Work or training related expenses, including clothing, books, class fees, etc.
- Job Readiness workshops and job search assistance
- Job Placement assistance
- Motivational workshops
- Mentoring
- Assessment: Two day comprehensive evaluation of skills, interests and abilities of participants
- Learning Disability Screening and Evaluation
- Vocational Training
- GED/HS Diploma/Basic Education
- Work experience (unpaid/paid)
- Mental Health services
- Substance Abuse services
- Domestic Abuse counseling
- Employment Preparation Program (unpaid worksite)
- Career advancement/retention services
- Monthly contact with Social Service Worker
