Question:
How safe is it for me to use my portable hand-held radio? How about my cellular telephone?
Answer:
All electronic devices such as your television, cellular telephone, portable hand-held radio, vehicular two-way radio and even your microwave oven emit RF (radio frequency) waves. The FCC (Federal Communications Commission) sets standards for RF safety. More information can be obtained by visiting their web site at: http://www.fcc.gov/oet/rfsafety/rf-faqs.html.
