| Cable television systems operate throughout Kern County. The County administers those systems operating in the unincorporated areas only. Systems operating within city boundaries are administered by the respective cities. The County enters into franchise agreements with the cable television systems to permit use of public right-of-ways for cable facilities (lines, conduits, junction boxes, etc.). Whether operating in city or County areas, cable television systems are directly regulated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and city and County administrative powers are determined and delegated by and through the FCC. | |

If you have a complaint against a cable television system operating within the unincorporated areas of the County, contact your cable operator first using the contact information on your bill or the contact information below. If they cannot resolve your concern, you may report a complaint to Kern County. For payments and all other questions/concerns about your cable service, please work directly with your cable provider. |
