2017 'All Lakes' and 'Lake Isabella Only' boat permits are now available for sale online.

We are pleased to announce that 2017 Kern County Annual "All Lakes", and "Lake Isabella Only" boat permits are now available for sale online. For additional information, please contact the Kern County Parks and Recreation Department at (661) 868-7000 during regular business hours, Monday - Friday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. To place your boat permit order by phone, call the above number.


Buena Vista Aquatic Recreation Area Trout Season will begin November 22, 2016

Fireworks Ban in Kern County Parks

It is unlawful for any person to possess, discharge or use any fireworks, including fireworks defined and classified as "safe and sane" within any Kern County Park. This provision shall not apply to Pyrotechnic Operators licensed by the State of California engaged in the preparations for or performance of a public fireworks display, providing the operator possesses any applicable local permits regulating the use, discharge or possession of fireworks. Any person who violates this ban shall be fined as specified in section 17.32.026 of the Kern County Fire Code. The fines begin at $1,500 for the first violation, $2,000 for the second violation and $2,500 for the third violation. Parks Administration Office closed for lunch

Beginning September 7th, the Parks Administration Office at 1115 Truxtun Avenue, 3rd floor, in Bakersfield will be closed for lunch Monday - Friday between the hours of 1pm to 2pm.
