Public Information ♦ Cooling Centers

During the summertime, senior citizens and others at risk from heat can find relief at cooling centers across Kern County. Residents using the centers should bring their own books, puzzles or games to pass the time. Water and snacks will be provided thanks to funding from PG&E.   Criteria for opening cooling centers
If you need transportation to a cooling center, contact:
Cooling Centers are primarily funded through a grant from   PG&E
If a Cooling Center is designated "open" the center will operate from 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
