Renewable Energy is energy derived from naturally replenished resources such as wind, sunlight, geothermal heat, and biomass. Kern County has a number of renewable energy projects in various phases of development, from application submittal to certified Environmental Impact Reports and projects under construction. As we process these projects, additional information will be added to this site when it becomes available.

At the Request of the Board of Supervisors, the Proposed Kern County Wind Resource Area Maps have been referred back to Staff for further refinement.
