WORKERS' COMPENSATION SERVICES
The County of Kern's workers' compensation program is self-insured
and self-administered. Workers' Compensation Services
manages all of the workers' compensation claims for the County
of Kern. Claims Adjusters will assist injured employees and
their employing departments with the workers' compensation process.
Employees are protected by California Law for injuries arising out
of employment or during the course of employment. Among other rights,
an industrially injured employee has a right to medical treatment
reasonably required to cure or relieve from the effects of the injury.
Prompt reporting of all work related injuries and illnesses is essential!
Department payroll/human resources staff will work closely with the
Claims Adjuster during the course of a claim.
The County of Kern has adopted a "Return-to-Work" policy. This policy
includes a temporary limited duty component as well as a consideration
for modified or available alternate work for employees who are permanently
incapacitated for the performance of their regular jobs.
