Kern veterans and your families: Let us serve you! If you served honorably in the military, thank you for your service and sacrifice for this country. Thank you also to the spouses and dependents who served along with you. Regardless of your era, your branch, your post or your assignment, you are likely entitled to state and federal veteran's benefits, and your dependents may also qualify for benefits.
Mission Statement: The goal of the Kern County Veterans Service Department remains the same today as when it was first established in 1944: to assist veterans, their dependents, and survivors to obtain the benefits they have earned as a result of their honorable military service.

Honor Flight Breakfast

Serving begins at 9:00 am. Come early, visit and enjoy some coffee or juice. Open to all Honor Flight Veterans, Guardians and a guest.

Annual Founder's Day Banquet

Saturday, February 7th from 6 pm - 9 pm at Hodel's Country Dining, 5917 Knudsen Drive, Bakersfield, CA 93308. Cost of the event is $30.00 per person. This is an annual fundraiser for the Minter Field Air Museum. At this year's banquet we will salute the "Unsung Heroes" of Kern County that made a difference in World War II - specifically the ladies who went into the factories, became WASPs, WAACS, SPARS, or did many other things to help the war effort. There will be a short presentation by Elli Cunanan, a 2014 winner at the local High School History Day competition, which you won't want to miss. Our special guest speaker is the California Secretary of Veteran's Affairs, who will have a great message to share with those in attendance. Wounded Heroes Fund Family 4X4 Run

Our friends at 4x4Him will be hosting a full day of family fun for the veterans of Kern County. The day will include a full day of 4x4 runs, BBQ, bonfire, and live music, free of charge! Bring your children, and give them experience of rock crawling the rugged terrain of Kern County.

For the day of the run we will be meeting up at the Bakersfield Vet Center to convoy up to the remote location. The drive there should take approximately 30 minutes. Address for the Vet Center is 1110 Golden State Hwy Bakersfield, CA 93310.
