Kern veterans and your families: Let us serve you! If you served honorably in the military, thank you for your service and sacrifice for this country. Thank you also to the spouses and dependents who served along with you. Regardless of your era, your branch, your post or your assignment, you are likely entitled to state and federal veteran's benefits, and your dependents may also qualify for benefits.
Mission Statement: The goal of the Kern County Veterans Service Department remains the same today as when it was first established in 1944: to assist veterans, their dependents, and survivors to obtain the benefits they have earned as a result of their honorable military service.

Fall Job Fest 2015  (540K PDF)

Kern County Department of Human Services is hosting the Fall Job Fest 2015 on Thursday, September 17th.  The Fall Job Fest 2015 will be held at  the Rabobank Convention Center, located at 1001 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, CA 93301 from 8:00AM - 12:00PM.

Don't wait in line! If you attend the 8:00 AM workshop, the doors will open at 7:00 AM and close at 8:00 AM for the workshop.  The topics that will be discussed at the workshop include:  Presenting Yourself Professionally; Asking Clear and Concise Questions; Navigating the Job Fest; How to Follow up on job leads after the event.

Serving begins at 9:00am.  Come early, visit and enjoy some coffee or juice.  Open to all Honor Flight Veterans, Guardians and a guest.
